How I work

Four disciplines, one marketer, zero silos.

The storyteller

I make complicated products feel simple. At Verisk I turn catastrophe-risk models into clear value propositions, and my stakeholder letter, modeled on Warren Buffett's annual letters, became our most-engaged campaign of 2025.

Runs the numbers

Creative is a hypothesis until the data says otherwise. I build testing roadmaps, read the results, and move budget, targeting, and messaging toward what works.

Rallies the team

I've launched an app across 13 partner devices with creative, product, legal, and tech in the room, and programmed 80+ conference sessions on time. I keep the calendar, the brief, and the people moving together.

Reads the room

The best plan fails without trust. Partners like Nestlé, Mars, Comcast, Levi's, and Adidas invested more because the relationship was worth it, and Amazon chose me to train its first team in Brazil.

About

Beauty editor to Amazon to catastrophe risk.

I started at Birchbox writing about beauty and working with 200+ brands. I learned scale at Amazon across fashion, streaming, and new marketplaces, then led healthcare marketing at Chewy. Today I make catastrophe-risk science feel human at Verisk.

Every industry has taught me the same thing: find what the customer actually cares about, say it better than anyone else, and prove it worked.

Off the clock, you’ll find me at my fifth (sixth?) Mariah concert, negotiating with my opinionated cat Chi Chi, or hunting down the city’s best croissant.

FAQ

The questions I get asked most.

How do you measure whether a campaign worked?

I agree on the goal before anything launches, whether that’s pipeline, new customers, basket size, or attendance, and I build the measurement plan around it. Then I read the results honestly. Next, I look at where the activity sits in the funnel. A paid LinkedIn campaign gets measured on reach, click-through rate, and cost per lead, while a client-facing event gets measured on attendance, meetings booked, and pipeline influenced. I also compare results against earlier benchmarks, so each effort improves on the last one and on the year before. Finally, I look past the averages. A big metric can look healthy while hiding a real problem, so I read direct customer feedback and dig into the details where the real issues tend to show up.

How do you decide where to put a limited budget?

I stay curious and treat every budget as a chance to test and learn. I start with the audiences and channels most likely to move the goal, run tests, and shift spend toward what’s working. What I learn from each test shapes the next plan.

How do you work with sales, product, and other teams?

I bring them in early and give everyone the same brief. At Verisk, I partner with product, research, sales, and creative to turn catastrophe-risk models into messaging sales can use. At Amazon, launching Prime Video on 13 partner devices meant keeping creative, business development, product, legal, and tech on one timeline. I’m also comfortable saying no when a request doesn’t serve the goal, and disagreeing openly when I see a better path. Once the team decides, I commit fully and help deliver it.

How do you use AI in your work?

I use AI tools to move faster on research, first drafts, and analysis, and to raise the quality of content and marketing operations. The judgment stays with me. Getting to a strong draft sooner gives me more time for strategy and the details that make work land.

I’m also highly mindful of what I like to call “AI scope creep.” For example, your boss sends you an email that needs a simple yes or no, and you find yourself using AI to create, then edit, a five-paragraph response with 18 adjectives and 12 em dashes. Over-reliance on AI, or a lack of confidence in your own abilities, can slow things down and overcomplicate the simple stuff.

What do you do when a campaign underperforms?

I look at the data quickly and work out whether the problem is the audience, the message, the channel, or the offer. Then I change one thing at a time and keep testing. I’d rather catch a weak result in week two than explain it in the recap. Finally, I believe in being vocally self-critical. We all make mistakes, and if I’ve made a misstep in campaign ideation or execution, I own it, map out a solution, and move forward to deliver results.

How do you build strong partner relationships?

I make the partnership worth the partner’s investment. I learn what each partner needs, show them results, and keep communication simple. That approach brought in $3M in incremental vendor investment from one direct mail campaign at Amazon, and margin-boosting investments from partners like Nestlé and Mars at Chewy.

You’ve worked in beauty, retail, streaming, pet health, and insurance. How do you get up to speed in a new industry?

I start with the customer. I talk to sales and product, read what customers say, and learn the language fast. Every industry I’ve worked in has rewarded the same skill: finding what the customer cares about and saying it clearly.

What are you looking for in your next role?

In my career to date, I’ve been an individual contributor, and I’m looking for a role with a runway into leadership. I want to surround myself with diverse, curious teams that push me to keep learning and raising the bar. I’m based in Boston and open to relocation.

Let's build your next big moment.

If you're hiring, I'd love to hear what you're building.
